SAFe-ly Scaling an Agile Product Operating Model
SAFe evolving toward a product operating model: how the framework is adapting to empowered product teams, outcome focus, and the shift from project to product.
SAFe is moving closer to the product operating model conversation
How can an Agile Product Operating Model enhance how organizations use SAFe? I had several conversations with product leaders this week where this question came up. These are organizations struggling with SAFe Theater and looking for more empowerment, outcome orientation, and evidence-driven steering.
In some cases, SAFe helped them move from chaos toward a stable feature factory. That is not nothing. But now they are aiming for something more like a product lab: teams that can learn, decide, and steer toward outcomes rather than just process more features.
If that sounds like your reality, you might find my recent conversation with Scrum.org CEO Dave West useful.
In related news, Scaled Agile released an Executive Briefing about the Product Operating Model At Scale, which is worthwhile reading as well.
